The town has a variety of beautiful gardens, from the vibrant plants in public spaces to privately tended florals in residents’ yards. The Mystic Charles Pollinator Pathways Group (MCPPG) hosted a viewing so that community members can enjoy them all.
On Saturday, Aug. 5, a diversity of gardens throughout Arlington were open for guests to stroll through. In many cases, those visiting could expect to meet the hosts who maintain these enviromentally friendly gardens and to have informal, informative conversations about pesticide-free native-plant gardening tips and practices.
Summer is a great season to see butterfly and bee activity, the MCPPG group wrote in a news release. Such pollinating insects are crucial to the environment as a whole.
Some gardens were open all day; others had hosts planning to open their gates for a few hours. Details are below.
