Residents urged to apply for standing committee by noon March 31

It's new and it's big and it has space for all the youth and young adults in town who want to participate in the various aspects of civic engagement and community building in Arlington, officials say.

The Young Arlington Collaborative will be led by its standing committee, which has space for 42 members -- two from each precinct. Of those, 21 will be voting members.

Town officials hope its size and openness to all youth and young adults will make it one of the most inclusive and diverse groups created by Town Meeting.

Residents can submit their names by sending email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..us, so those who wish to be included in the pool of candidates for the standing committee are asked to make contact by noon Friday, March 31. 

The goal is to have at least one meeting before the end of the school year, an announcement said.
