The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra invites residents to its "Almost Winter" concert, set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at the First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church, 630 Mass. Ave.

The performance will be led by Barry Singer, music director of the Arlington-Belmont Chorale, and Orlando Cela, music director of the Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra. 

Included in the concert program are works by multiple composers including Ottorino Respighi’s "Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 2," Sir Edward Elgar’s "Lux Aeterna," Lauridsen’s Lux Aeterna" and Francis Poulenc’s "Gloria." The performance will include soloist Mara Walker, the choral director at Arlington High School.

Tickets are to be sold at the door, priced at $20 for general admission, $15 for students and seniors, and $5 for children 17 and under. This is a wheelchair- accessible and mask-optional event.

According to its website, The Philharmonic Society of Arlington endeavors to provide performances of the widest range of classical and contemporary works to community audiences in accessible settings.
