Nanci L. (Leverone) Ortwein, of Brewster and Arlington, where she had been a veteran Spanish teacher at Arlington High School before she retired, died Sept. 9. 

The Sept. 14 Boston Globe obituary reports that she was the loving mother of Kristin Caruso and her husband, Michael, of Peabody; Kathlyn Ortwein of Yarmouth, and Michael Ortwein and his wife, Jennifer, of Bloomfield Hills, Mich.

Cherished grandmother of Camryn, Jake and Luke Caruso, Aubrey and Teddy Fleming and Jack, Peter, Charlie and Tommy Ortwein. Sister of Lillian Peracchia and her husband, Camillo, of Rochester, N.Y.

Aunt of Luigi Peracchia and his wife, Nancy, of Strasburg, Va.; Carla Peracchia of Rochester, N.Y., and Tanya Baker and her husband, John ,of Fairport, N.Y., as well as all of her beloved cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews and Sandra Brown-Papasedero, her best friend of 65 years.

Nanci is also survived by her former spouse, Bernard M. Ortwein II, and his wife, Karen, of Estero, Fla. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit in the DeVito Funeral Home, 1145 Mass. Ave., on Thursday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. and Friday, Sept. 17, from 9 to 11 a.m. 

A Funeral Mass is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 17, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Agnes Church and can be live-streamed by visiting cparl.org. Burial to follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
