UPDATED, June 7: The Arlington Chamber of Commerce has announced that DeAnne Dupont has been chosen as its Citizen of the Year.
Dupont cofounded Food Link, an Arlington-based food-recovery program, with Julie Kremer.
"We surprised her at her home earlier today," Beth Locke, of the Chamber, said in a news release.

"I was totally surprised and thrilled by this honor and appreciate all those who nominated and voted for me," Dupont told YourArlington. "This is especially rewarding as this honor directly relates to my work with Food Link to provide nutritious food to many organizations in Arlington that in turn provide it to their residents, members, patrons and clients. The award demonstrates that what our volunteers and I do through Food Link is important to our community."

Milan and McCormick nominated DeAnne.
Dupont will be honored at a gala event set for Oct. 6, during which the Chamber will also celebrate its 100th Anniversary.
Tickets will go on sale in August.
