The Housing Corporation of Arlington reported April 29 that it bought a piece of land at 10 Sunnyside Ave. last fall, and it is asking the town to approve the zoning needed to build affordable housing there. Residents may learn more on the HCA website.
HCA is proposing 43 new affordable apartments with a community room and outdoor deck. This building won't be completed until 2026.
A note: Tenants for these new apartments will be selected using a lottery in late 2025 or early 2026. HCA's current tenants may apply -- but HCA and Peabody staff will not have any ability to select tenants or promise existing tenants a place in the new building.
