The Town of Arlington has named Charlotte Breef-Pilz as Arlington’s new health compliance officer, according to Health and Human Services Director Colleen Leger.

The health compliance officer performs inspectional and technical work in the enforcement and interpretation of applicable local, state and federal codes and regulations relating to public health, according to a town news release. The officer also participates in the development of public health regulations, conducts various inspections and investigates complaints pertaining to food establishments, residential housing, general sanitation and public health nuisance issues.

“Charlotte brings a wealth of knowledge about program planning in local public health to this role,” said Public Health Director Natasha Waden. “I am confident she will be an asset to our team.”

Before coming to Arlington, Breef-Pilz was operations coordinator for Academic Public Health Corps. There, she supervised a cohort of public health students, managed projects for health departments across the state, consulted with public health professionals and developed health-education materials for local health departments.

“Arlington makes the health of residents a main priority,” said Breef-Pilz. “I look forward to expanding my local public health skills and collaborating with a team of professionals who strive to help their community.”

Breef-Pilz holds a bachelor of science degree in health behavior science from the University of Delaware, with minors in public health and women & gender studies.

Breef-Pilz started work for the town Oct. 30. Caryn Malloy of Arlington's Human Resources Department told YourArlington that the salary for this position is $66,477 annually.
