CroppedOptimized200FFCLogo.jpgUPDATED March 24: The more than 60 members of the Family Folk Chorale presented an early spring performance celebrating the music of American singer Brandi Carlile  at 4 p.m., Sunday, March 24, at Arlington Town Hall, 730 Mass. Ave. Family Folk Chorale

Artistic director Chris Eastburn wrote in a chorale newsletter that Carlile's music is rooted in tradition and influenced by great songwriters of generations before, spanning many genres including folk rock, alternative country, Americana and classic rock.

Carlile has won nine Grammy Awards and earned a total of 27 nominations.  

"She expresses in fresh ways much-needed and timeless messages of love, connection, joy and humanity," he wrote.

Per the chorale's website, the group is committed to the principle that "everyone can sing" -- and the audience is often encouraged to sing along during a concert. Members consist of multiple family members, ranging in age from singers as young as 3 up to 80 years old. Those interested can follow the group on Facebook here >>
