UPDATED June 4: YourArlington seeks news about anything in Arlington. That includes announcing an event or a  business or organization, new or old, reporting new information.

WHO is in charge? Provide full name and title.

WHAT kind of organization or business is it? What kinds of goods and/or services are available? What are the details about an event?

WHERE is it exactly (street address)?

WHEN will an event occur (specific date, time) or a business be open to the public (opening date, time plus range of hours)?

WHY did you start a business (need name and title), why in Arlington and why now? Brief history is always welcome.

If this is an event, WHAT is the occasion for it? HOW much does the event cost?

HOW can potential event or business customers learn more? Provide a phone number, email and website address.

FURTHER REQUIREMENTS: To make your event or business stand out, YourArlington's editor needs a logo and/or a photograph in .jpg and/or .png format, sent as an attachment to your email providing responses to these questions. Images should not be embedded or linked in the text or conveyed with limited access via a Google Drive.

  • If a business, you may send up to six photos, but we likely will use only one or two. If an event, a single logo or photo is fine.
  •  Provide in your email captions describing each photo, making it clear which photo is which. If there are people in the photo, provide their full names/titles, going left to right, and the photographer's name.
  • Report the name/title/affiliation of whoever wrote the information provided. 
  • It is the responsibility of event sponsors to notify YourArlington immediately if an event is postponed or canceled.
  • Send your news announcement in the body of your email or in an attached document (Microsoft Word or plain text). Do not send .pdfs. Publicists can convert a .pdf to plain text using
  • YourArlington does not publish an announcement word-for-word. The editor checks all material for accuracy, completeness and journalistic style.
